Your full-day tour begins at 8:00 am with a Sphinx Tours guide picking you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The first stop is the iconic Giza Pyramids, where you’ll visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Explore the Valley Temple, where the priests mummified the body of King Chephren, and marvel at the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and King Chephren’s head, standing watch over the vast funeral complex.
Next, you’ll journey to Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. Here, you’ll visit the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser and considered a crucial milestone in the evolution of pyramid construction, transitioning from the simple mastaba to the familiar pyramidal form.
The tour then takes you to the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids), a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. This site is renowned for several pyramids, including two of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt (the Bent and Red Pyramids), built between 2613–2589 BCE.
Alternatively, you can choose to skip Dahshur and visit Memphis City instead, Memphis served as the first capital of ancient Egypt for over eight dynasties and remained a crucial city for over 3,000 years. Founded around 3100 BC by King Menes (Narmer), the unifier of ancient Egypt. Here, you’ll witness the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx, dating back to 3100 B.C.
At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
There is a possibility of entering any of the pyramids from inside, riding a camel around the Giza pyramids, or riding a quad bike in the vast desert, but all those activities can be added on during the booking process as they require additional fees.
