About this tour

Your full-day tour begins at 8:00 am with a Sphinx Tours guide picking you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The first stop is the iconic Giza Pyramids, where you’ll visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Explore the Valley Temple, where the priests mummified the body of King Chephren, and marvel at the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and King Chephren’s head, standing watch over the vast funeral complex.

Next, you’ll journey to Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. Here, you’ll visit the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser and considered a crucial milestone in the evolution of pyramid construction, transitioning from the simple mastaba to the familiar pyramidal form.

The tour then takes you to the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids), a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. This site is renowned for several pyramids, including two of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt (the Bent and Red Pyramids), built between 2613–2589 BCE.

Alternatively, you can choose to skip Dahshur and visit Memphis City instead, Memphis served as the first capital of ancient Egypt for over eight dynasties and remained a crucial city for over 3,000 years. Founded around 3100 BC by King Menes (Narmer), the unifier of ancient Egypt. Here, you’ll witness the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx, dating back to 3100 B.C.

At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.

There is a possibility of entering any of the pyramids from inside, riding a camel around the Giza pyramids, or riding a quad bike in the vast desert, but all those activities can be added on during the booking process as they require additional fees.

An Exceptional experience between the arms of the ancient Egyptians

Wow, what an incredible day exploring ancient Egypt! This full-day tour from Cairo was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all my expectations. Our knowledgeable Sphinx Tours guide picked us up right on time from our hotel, setting the tone for a well-organized adventure. The Giza Pyramids were truly awe-inspiring. Standing at the base of these massive structures, it's mind-boggling to think about how they were built thousands of years ago. The Great Pyramid of Cheops in particular left me speechless. Exploring the Valley Temple and learning about the mummification process was fascinating, and seeing the iconic Sphinx up close was a dream come true. Sakkara was another highlight. The Step Pyramid's historical significance as a turning point in ancient architecture gave me a new appreciation for Egypt's rich past. Our guide's explanations really brought the site to life. The Dahshur Pyramids were a pleasant surprise - less crowded than Giza but equally impressive. The unique shape of the Bent Pyramid and the massive scale of the Red Pyramid were unforgettable sights. It was special to visit some of Egypt's oldest and best-preserved pyramids. I appreciated the flexibility to customize the tour. While we chose Dahshur, the option to visit Memphis City instead sounds enticing for history buffs. The additional activities like entering a pyramid or taking a camel ride around Giza (for an extra fee) are great for personalizing the experience. Our guide's expertise and enthusiasm made the day truly special. They answered all our questions and shared fascinating insights throughout the tour. The air-conditioned vehicle was comfortable for the drives between sites, and we were grateful to be dropped off at our hotel after such a full day. If you're looking for a comprehensive tour of Cairo's ancient wonders, I can't recommend this experience highly enough. It's the perfect way to see Egypt's most iconic sites in one unforgettable day!

A Chinese Traveler's Unforgettable Day with Sphinx Tours

Incredible journey through ancient Egypt! Our guide from Sphinx Tours was knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience unforgettable. The Giza Pyramids were awe-inspiring - standing next to these massive structures felt surreal. The Sphinx was majestic, and learning about its history was fascinating. Sakkara's Step Pyramid was a highlight, showing the evolution of ancient Egyptian architecture. The Dahshur Pyramids were less crowded, offering a more peaceful experience. Our guide explained the unique 'bent' shape of one pyramid, which was intriguing. The tour was well-paced, allowing enough time at each site. The air-conditioned vehicle was comfortable for the drives between locations. Our guide's English was excellent, and he patiently answered all our questions. I appreciated the flexibility to customize the tour. We chose to see Memphis City instead of Dahshur, and the colossal Ramses II statue was impressive. The option to add activities like entering a pyramid or camel riding was great, though we didn't partake. Overall, this tour provided an excellent overview of Egypt's ancient wonders. It was well-organized, educational, and exciting. I highly recommend Sphinx Tours for anyone wanting to explore Egypt's rich history.

A Day Full of Ancient Wonders with Sphinx Tours

Wow! What an amazing day with Sphinx Tours! Our guide picked us up right from our hotel, which was super convenient. We saw so much in one day! The Giza Pyramids were breathtaking. We got to see three big pyramids and learn about the kings who built them. The Sphinx was awesome too - it's so huge in real life! Then we went to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid. It's really old and interesting to see how pyramids first started. We chose to visit the Bent and Red Pyramids at Dahshur. They're not as crowded as Giza, so it felt special. These pyramids are really old and still look great! Our guide knew so much and made everything fun to learn about. They answered all our questions and helped us take great photos. By the end of the day, we were tired but happy. It was cool to see so many famous Egyptian sights in one trip. If you love history and want to see lots of pyramids, this tour is perfect!
