At 8:00 am, you will start your full day tour where our expert Sphinx tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. You will visit the Giza pyramids in a new private air-conditioned car.
The Giza pyramids and the Great Sphinx are very popular places for tourists to visit, even back in Roman times. Each big pyramid was built as a tomb for a king from the 4th Dynasty, around 2500 BC.
The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu, and the other two pyramids were for his son Khafre and grandson Menkaure. Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and biggest of the three. No building was taller than it for another 3,800 years!
You will enjoy a 20-minute camel ride. Then the guide will take you to the Panoramic area, a place where you can see all the pyramids together in one view. Next, you will go to the Valley Temple, which is where King Khafre’s body was mummified. This is also the place to get closer to the Sphinx statue. The guide will help you take nice memorable photos, picking the best spots.
After that, you will visit the Egyptian Museum. This is the oldest archaeology museum in the Middle East. It has the biggest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the world, from prehistoric times to the Greek and Roman period. The museum building was designed through an international competition in 1895 by a French architect. It opened in 1902 and has become an important historic place in Cairo, with many amazing ancient masterpieces.
At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
