It displays the largest and most precious collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the world, exhibiting over 250,000 genuine items dating back as far as 5,000 years. This includes an exclusive exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamun – a collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry buried for over 3,500 years in his tomb before discovery in 1920.
Then visit The Citadel of Salah El-din in Cairo, majestically perched on Cairo’s highest point, this medieval fortress was built by Salah El-Din (Saladin) between 1176-1183 CE to protect the city from Crusaders and then inside you will visit the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha, the crown jewel of the Citadel, this Ottoman-style mosque was built between 1830-1848 by Muhammad Ali Pasha, the founder of modern Egypt.
Then on to Old Cairo, also known as Coptic Christian Cairo. This area contains locations visited by the Holy Family and retains great spiritual significance. Although their stay was brief, the Governor sought to kill the infant Jesus, enraged by toppling idols in his path. They took shelter in a cave above where the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergius) now stands. This whole district draws Christian pilgrims from around the world. You will also be able to visit and enter the Church of Abu Sergah, the Hanging Church, St. Barbara, and Ben Ezra Synagogue – the old Jewish synagogue.
