Your full-day tour commences at 8:00 am with a Sphinx Tours guide picking you up from your hotel. The first stop is the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where the main exhibition hall showcases the four primary crafts that shaped Egyptian civilization: pottery, wood, textiles, and ornaments. Marvel at the world’s oldest prosthetic toe, a 30,000-year-old human skeleton, the last Kaaba Cover (Kiswaa Al Kaaba) made in Egypt during Nasser’s presidency, and the Mahmal, a ceremonial litter used to transport the Kaaba Cover from Egypt to Saudi Arabia annually. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to see the Kaaba key, an ancient clepsydra (water clock), and the royal mummies that were recently relocated from the Egyptian Museum in a grand parade.
Next, you’ll proceed to the Citadel of Salah El-Din and visit the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha.
The tour continues to Old Cairo, also known as Christian Coptic Cairo, an area of profound spiritual significance for the Holy Family. Here, you can explore the Church of Abu Sergah, St. Barbara, the Hanging Church, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, once a prominent Jewish place of worship.
At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
